Director General of Concessions, Ministry of Public Works, Chile
Claudio Soto Cárdenas was appointed Acting Director General of Concessions at the Ministry of Public Works on May 19, 2025.
He has extensive experience in the field of public infrastructure concessions. Prior to his current role, he served as Head of the Operations Division at the Directorate General of Concessions (August 2024 – May 2025) and previously as Head of the Roads and Hydraulic Works Department within the Construction Division of the same institution (December 2021 – August 2024). He has also held positions as Fiscal Inspector for the Nogales–Puchuncaví Road and the Convento Viejo Dam (Stage II) concessions, as well as Acting Fiscal Inspector for the Second Concession of Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport.
In the private sector, he has served as Technical Manager and Operations Manager at Sociedad Concesionaria Túnel El Melón S.A.; Senior Specialist in Programming and Control at Centrales Hidroeléctricas de Aysén S.A.; and has contributed to various infrastructure and concession projects with Cruz y Dávila Ingenieros, among other companies.
He holds a degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structures and Construction from the University of Chile and a Diploma in Project Management and Administration from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.
