Dr. Woongtae Chung is a Senior Research Fellow at the Korea Energy Economics Institute (KEEI), and since 2018 has held the position of Managing Director of the Center for International Energy Cooperation (CIEC) at KEEI. Dr. Chung previously served as a Visiting Scholar at the Global Energy Management Program at the University of Colorado, Denver.
His areas of expertise include bilateral and multilateral international cooperation to enhance energy security and promote low-carbon energy development. He also specializes in international energy transition and climate change policy, as well as analyzing the impact of foreign policy on international trade and investment in the energy sector.
Dr. Chung has published numerous research papers on topics such as strategies for cooperation in building a low-carbon economy in developing countries, ensuring and strengthening the security of the energy supply chain, and monitoring and evaluating the outcomes of international cooperation in the multi-energy sector.
