Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of Korea
He currently serves as the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of Korea (since July 2025).
Previously, he held senior leadership positions in the Prime Minister’s office and the Ministry of Economy and Finance, including Minister of the Office for Government Policy Coordination and Second Vice Minister of Economy and Finance.
He has extensive experience in fiscal policy and public administration, having served as Deputy Minister for Budget, Director General for Budget Coordination and for Social Affairs Budget, as well as Deputy Director General for Performance Management in Ministry of Economy and Finance. He also worked in the Office of the President in various senior roles in personnel management and national affairs.
Internationally, he served as a Senior Advisor at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Washington, D.C., gaining multilateral finance experience.
He holds a Ph.D. in Trade and Logistics from Chung-Ang University, an M.A. in Public Policy from the University of Wisconsin, an M.A. in Public Administration and a B.A. in Economics from Seoul National University.
