Juan Parodi works as Principal Investment Officer at IDB Invest, the private sector arm of the Inter-American Development Bank.

Based in São Paulo, Juan leads IDB Invest’s efforts in the Southern Cone under the Corporate Division. He is responsible for a diverse range of sectors, including housing, pharmaceuticals, wholesale markets, pulp and paper, automotive, and minerals for the energy transition, among others.

Juan also oversees the IDB Invest initiative “Amazon Forever,” where he is tasked with enhancing private sector activities and coordination across the eight countries that comprise the Amazon Basin.

Before joining IDB Invest, Juan spent over 17 years in commercial and investment banking in São Paulo and New York, working at institutions such as Banco Santander, Société Générale, Itaú BBA, and Proparco. Throughout his extensive career, Juan was responsible for structuring a wide array of local and international debt and equity products across most Latin American countries and the United States.

Juan holds a Bachelor of Commerce with a specialization in finance from Saint Mary’s University in Canada and a Master’s degree in Banking from Fundação Dom Cabral in Brazil.
